Grants and Schemes

An energy efficient house makes sense as it is cheaper to run, more environmentally friendly and it’s a key selling point if you choose to sell your home.

The South Yorkshire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre can recommend professional and reliable installers to carry out energy improvements to your home.  If you need to update your heating, improve your insulation or looking into a renewable energy technology please contact us for advice.

Insulation

Man installing cavity wall insulation

Did you know that 35% of the heat in your home is lost through your walls and 25% of your heat could be escaping out of your roof?

Cavity wall insulation is the most effective way to keep the heat in your home – where it belongs.  Insulating your cavity walls can save you around £90 per year on your bills, while insulating your loft can save you up to £110 per year!

The Save ‘n’ Warm Scheme offers grants and discounts to help with the cost of insulating your home and we can pass customers’ details to an approved insulation contractor for a free no obligation survey.  Just call us on freephone 0800 512 012 / 0800 028 1067 for more information.

Householders in receipt of qualifying income or disability related benefits are eligible for FREE insulation measures.  Please contact us if you are in receipt of a benefit and we can let you know what is available.

Heating

Old and inefficient heating systems can cost you money.  Replacing a 15 year old boiler with a condensing boiler can save around 30%.  Up to 40% can be saved via a combination of condensing boiler and correct heating controls.

The Save 'n' Warm Scheme provides Condensing boilers and heating systems at competitive prices.

A replacement boiler ranges from £1,800 and a full system is from £2,600.  These prices are only a guide, if you would like a free survey and quote please contact us.

Householders in receipt of a qualifying income or disability related benefit may be eligible for FREE gas central heating.  Please contact us if you are in receipt of a benefit and we can let you know what is available.

All work will be carried out by an approved Corgi registered contractor.

Renewable

Are you looking towards a renewable future?  South Yorkshire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre is promoting a greener future.  By using less energy we can all contribute to reducing the amount of carbon dioxide produced and play a part in reducing climate change.

The use of renewable energy (from a source that does not run out, such as solar, wind, biomass, or water power) is becoming increasingly more popular.  The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform's Low Carbon Building Programme provides renewable energy grants for householders, community organisations, schools, the public and not for profit sector and private businesses.
